Chinese stainless producer Foshan Chengde to install 500,000
2017-05-19Chinese stainless steelmaker Foshan Chengde will install a 500,000 tpy annealing and pickling line (APL), French equipment supplier Fives said on Wednesday December 14.
The line, which will produce 200, 300 and 400 series stainless steel products for a range of applications, including construction, automotive and medical equipment, is expected to be operational by the end of 2017.
The APL will be manufactured by a Fives subsidiary in Shanghai, China, and will include a skin-pass mill to reduce the surface roughness and improve the flatness of the cold rolled stainless strip.
"The stainless steel processing lines designed by Fives have a good reputation in the industry. We believe in Fives’ first-class international design standards and turnkey management experience," Foshan Chengde md Li Quan said.
Global stainless steel demand is expected to increase by 7 million tpy in the five years to 2020, from 37.40 million tonnes in 2015.
